This desolate 98-mile stretch of Nevada’s State Route 375 was nicknamed the Extraterrestrial Highway in 1996. The name is a nod to nearby Area 51, the ultra-classified Air Force installation long linked with UFO lore, alien sightings, and endless conspiracy theories.
