  • Hike to the “Witch’s Castle” – Follow a shady half-mile trail (one-way) from the Upper Macleay lot to this moss-covered stone ruin turned graffiti landmark beside a babbling creek.
  • Explore the Bird Alliance Sanctuary – Visit the 172-acre wildlife refuge to meet rehabilitated raptors, walk peaceful forest trails, and learn about Oregon’s native birds and ecosystems.
  • Walk the Wildwood Trail to Pittock Mansion – Hike 1.3 scenic miles (one-way) through lush canopy to reach this hilltop mansion with panoramic views of Portland and Mount Hood.
  • Bike Along Leif Erikson Drive – Ride or stroll this wide, forested gravel trail, perfect for spotting wildlife, catching shade, and linking up with smaller side trails.
  • Revel in Views of St. John’s Bridge – A scenic four-mile round-trip hike on the Ridge Trail rewards with sweeping views of the St. Johns Bridge and the Willamette River.
