The Alaska Native Heritage Center celebrates the living cultures of Alaska’s Indigenous peoples. Representing 11 major cultural groups, the center offers a deeper understanding of Alaska’s first peoples through authentic experiences, traditional village sites, and daily cultural demonstrations.

  • Explore the Hall of Cultures – View artifacts, multimedia exhibits, and historical displays illuminating the traditions, technologies, and artistry of Alaska’s five major culture groups.
  • Join Cultural Workshops – Participate in storytelling, language lessons, or art demonstrations led by Alaska Native artists and elders for a hands-on learning experience.
  • Shop Indigenous Art – Support local artisans by purchasing handmade jewelry, carvings, and textiles at the Ch’k’iqadi Gallery or outdoor artist market.
